Toyota Releases All-New 2026 RAV4 With Bold Upgrades
Toyota has just unveiled the all-new, sixth-generation 2026 RAV, and it’s clear this isn’t just a refresh. America’s best-selling compact SUV is going all-in on electrification, technology, and personality. With a fully electrified lineup available in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) options, bold new designs, enhanced performance, and cutting-edge tech, the 2026 RAV4 is redefining what it means to be a compact SUV. This is what we know:
Electric Only Powertrains
For the first time ever, the RAV4 lineup is entirely electrified, offering either a hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain. The HEV now features Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system, delivering up to 236 horsepower with AWD and 226 hp with newly available FWD, up from the previous generation’s 203 hp FWD gas model.
Meanwhile, the PHEV makes a major leap with a sixth-generation powertrain delivering an estimated 320 hp and an improved all-electric range of up to 50 miles (up from 42 miles previously). Fast-charging capability is also available, with DC fast charging available on select grades like XSE and Woodland, and up to 11-kW AC charging for faster at-home charging.
First-Ever RAV4 GR SPORT: Performance Meets Practicality
Developed in partnership with TOYOTA GAZOO Racing, the first-ever RAV4 GR SPORT brings motorsport-inspired excitement to the compact SUV category. With aggressive styling, a GR-tuned suspension, AWD, summer tires, and a GR-exclusive exterior, this PHEV-only model delivers on both performance and visual punch.
Woodland Grade Gets a Bold Makeover
Now a standalone model, the Woodland grade embodies rugged adventure. It’s the perfect blend of trail-ready performance and daily versatility, featuring standard AWD, all-terrain tires, raised ride height, LED off-road lighting, and roof rails with crossbars.
Available in HEV or PHEV versions, this model is built for drivers who want capability and style.
Three New Design Themes, Seven Grades
The redesigned 2026 RAV4 will be offered in Core, Rugged, and Sport design styles, allowing buyers to match their SUV to their lifestyle.
